Seating: 1785, VIP seats: 154) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Kaapro Wallenius started the match with the kick off. Turo Piekkanen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kaapro Wallenius, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Leif Selänne took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arvi Tammisto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kaapro Wallenius in the 10th minute of play forced Piltola FC's goalkeeper Turo Piekkanen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Yrjö Naskali hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Uljas Jansson struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Turo Piekkanen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Eiskola. After 16 played minutes Eiskola got a freekick which was hit by Viljo Tikkanen. In the 18th minute of the match Ilkka Karalahti sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Leif Selänne skillfully saved the ball. Turo Piekkanen was out of position in the 19 minute of play, and Uljas Jansson capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Uljas Jansson really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Uljas Jansson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Turo Piekkanen read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 25th minute of play. If Arvi Tammisto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Uljas Jansson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Turo Piekkanen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Viljo Tikkanen charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Viljo Tikkanen the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Eiskola's Viljo Tikkanen got a free kick in the 36th minute. Piltola FC's Toni Haataja couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 37th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Eiskola. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Oliver Lehterä in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Leif Selänne prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 42nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Eiskola's goalkeeper Leif Selänne, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Arvi Tammisto stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Leif Selänne showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arvi Tammisto, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. Leif Selänne showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arvi Tammisto in the 57th minute of the match. Uljas Jansson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Oliver Lehterä had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Kaapro Wallenius managed to get in a good position for a shot. Eiskola's supporters rose to their feet, but Kaapro Wallenius was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Turo Piekkanen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kaapro Wallenius in the 76th minute of play forced Piltola FC's goalkeeper Turo Piekkanen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 79 minutes, Kaapro Wallenius managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Eiskola's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kaapro Wallenius was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Oliver Lehterä struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Leif Selänne didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Piltola FC. Kaapro Wallenius fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Turo Piekkanen having to interfere. When Ismo Hakanen fell near the penalty area in the 83rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Piltola FC's protests and gave Ismo Hakanen a yellow card for diving instead. After a defensive mix-up in Piltola FC's zone, Kaapro Wallenius stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Turo Piekkanen came out of the goal and Kaapro Wallenius tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Leif Selänne made an important save on a dangerous shot by Oliver Lehterä in the 93rd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Piltola FC's zone, Kaapro Wallenius stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Turo Piekkanen came out of the goal and Kaapro Wallenius tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 97 played minutes Eiskola got a freekick which was hit by Viljo Tikkanen. Eiskola were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Piltola FC for a fine match.
