But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vesa Lumio couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Launo Martikainen in the 7th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kaleva Jaakola saved Sporting Ratboy from getting behind. In the 14th minute, Launo Martikainen had to leave the field with a concussion. After 14 minutes, Kustaa Loikala mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sporting Ratboy and the Puistokadun Predators players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 13th minute of the game. One of Sporting Ratboy:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Puistokadun Predators:s goal. In the 17th minute of the game, Puistokadun Predators got a penalty. The shot went straight in by the left post. Aleksis Kurttila didn't get a good kick on the ball. Auvo Peltomaa, 20 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Petri Lampi in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jori Puurula prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Vesa Lumio came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Puistokadun Predators fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vesa Lumio couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Sporting Ratboy getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Tony Salermo hit a great ball. Turkka Haapaporras sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jori Puurula took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Turkka Haapaporras, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Petri Lampi got free with Jori Puurula in the 61st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Sporting Ratboy's Urpo Saarelainen got a free kick in the 68th minute. In the 76th minute, Tony Salermo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Petri Lampi got free with Jori Puurula in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Petri Lampi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 80th minute of the match, but Jori Puurula made a huge save. If Vesa Lumio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
