Heikki Kangaskorpi kicked well hit freekick during the 2nd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Lassi Kolsi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Potoskavaara IFK's supporters rose to their feet, but Lassi Kolsi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eerik Ruisniemi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 12 minutes into the game, Jhonny Beers was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Potoskavaara IFK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pinomäki Horses the free kick. After 12 played minutes Potoskavaara IFK got a freekick which was hit by Jhonny Beers. After 14 minutes, Lassi Kolsi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Potoskavaara IFK and the Pinomäki Horses players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Potoskavaara IFK's Lassi Kolsi got a free kick in the 14th minute. When Lassi Kolsi came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Potoskavaara IFK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lassi Kolsi couldn't finish the play. After having played for 18 minutes, Elgiz Vermäliyev managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Potoskavaara IFK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Elgiz Vermäliyev was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Jhonny Beers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Elgiz Vermäliyev recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Potoskavaara IFK booed when Pinomäki Horses was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mikko Vallin didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Antto Haapaniemi in the 43rd minute of play forced Potoskavaara IFK's goalkeeper Krister Odin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Potoskavaara IFK defense, Mikko Vallin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Krister Odin. The Potoskavaara IFK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Krister Odin should have stopped the shot. After the first half Pinomäki Horses were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Antto Haapaniemi to strike the kick off in the second half. After 51 played minutes Pinomäki Horses got a freekick which was hit by Sami Ollonen. After 53 played minutes Potoskavaara IFK got a freekick which was hit by Markku Takala. In the 58th play minute Antto Haapaniemi came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Krister Odin. 0-2. With a little luck, Potoskavaara IFK's Krister Odin got control of the ball when Antto Haapaniemi tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 68th minute, Antto Haapaniemi made a precise shot to the right of Krister Odin. Potoskavaara IFK's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. In the 72nd minute, Mikko Vallin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jarno Pesonen kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. The supporters of Pinomäki Horses booed when Potoskavaara IFK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Markku Takala didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Antto Haapaniemi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Potoskavaara IFK's Krister Odin got control of the ball when Antto Haapaniemi tried to sneak it across the goal line. Antto Haapaniemi who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 89thth minute tested the skills of Krister Odin when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Pauli Koivisto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Krister Odin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
