Spectators: 6780 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1780, VIP seats: 0) Raatajat's Taisto Raukko started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th minute of the match Ilmari Kuusela sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Kaleva Jaakola skillfully saved the ball. Aleksis Kurttila hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, Raatajat's Manne Puurunen tried to score from far away in the 14th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Matti Hagelberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Kaleva Jaakola tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Raatajat's Harri Vilmunen got control of the ball when Petri Lampi tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Matti Hagelberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Turkka Haapaporras sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 27th match minute, Raatajat was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hannes Kukkonen to maneuver through the defense. Raatajat's Hannes Kukkonen got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Matti Hagelberg in the 37th minute of play forced Sporting Ratboy's goalkeeper Kaleva Jaakola to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Raatajat's Harri Vilmunen got control of the ball when Petri Lampi tried to sneak it across the goal line. 46 minutes into the game, Taisto Raukko cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Kaleva Jaakola was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Turkka Haapaporras was the one to do the kick off. In the 54th match minute, Raatajat was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Timo Pakarinen to maneuver through the defense. Petri Lampi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Harri Vilmunen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sporting Ratboy's Kaleva Jaakola played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Taisto Raukko in the 58th minute of play. Taisto Raukko might have been able to make a better finish in the 61st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Kaleva Jaakola. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Taisto Raukko ran back to his position shaking his head. Taisto Raukko received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Kaleva Jaakola tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Turkka Haapaporras came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Sporting Ratboy fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Turkka Haapaporras couldn't finish the play. Sporting Ratboy's Petri Lampi got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Harri Vilmunen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Raatajat's zone, Tony Salermo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Harri Vilmunen came out of the goal and Tony Salermo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 81st minute Taisto Raukko shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kaleva Jaakola saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Turkka Haapaporras fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Harri Vilmunen having to interfere. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Raatajat eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
