After 11 minutes of play, Kautiala FC's Paavali Haarala made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sakari Tukio was left in no man's land by his defense there! Kautiala FC's Kuisma Ripatti played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Petri Tuulola in the 18th minute of play. 23 minutes into the game, Raimo Kaski was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Kautiala FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Villikkala IFK the free kick. In the 23rd match minute, Kautiala FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Raimo Kaski to maneuver through the defense. Villikkala IFK's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Roope Petsamo in the 30th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gabriel Salminen made a kick off. Mikael Pikkarainen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Sakari Tukio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 53rd minute, one of Villikkala IFK:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Villikkala IFK. Jyrki Raisanen might have been able to make a better finish in the 60th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Kuisma Ripatti. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jyrki Raisanen ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 62nd minute, one of Kautiala FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Kautiala FC. In the 69th minute Gabriel Salminen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kuisma Ripatti saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Antero Heino's late challenge caught a Villikkala IFK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
