Manchester City's Alvi Törmänen couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 19th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Kautiala FC. Kuisma Ripatti took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sampo Grönholm, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Manchester City's Rasmus Petsamo got a free kick in the 24th minute. Rasmus Petsamo charged in rather forcefully in the 27th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rasmus Petsamo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Kautiala FC booed when Manchester City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rasmus Petsamo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 28 minutes, Paavali Haarala mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Kautiala FC and the Manchester City players grew even worse after the yellow card. When the match clock showed 36 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Hannes Kaikkonen sped through Kautiala FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Kuisma Ripatti. 42 minutes into the match, Manchester City's goal looked a bit too open when Paavali Haarala came free, but Jorma Mäkilä reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kuisma Ripatti made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hannes Kaikkonen in the 44th minute. Rauli Huttunen hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. Alvi Törmänen, 90 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Antero Heino was shown his second yellow card after 92 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent.
