After 4 minutes, Hannes Puikkonen mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the PSY and the FC Suntti players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to PSY getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Hannes Puikkonen hit a great ball. Aaro Puhakainen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tahvo Pikkarainen having to interfere. Marko Meltoranta's late challenge caught a PSY's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Marko Meltoranta helped the player get up and apologised. In the 11th match minute, FC Suntti was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marko Meltoranta to maneuver through the defense. Pekko Kaikkonen kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Hannu Hakaniemi was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Jani Myllylä. Reko Hannukainen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Hannes Puikkonen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hannu Hakaniemi having to interfere. Hannes Puikkonen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Reko Hannukainen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Reko Hannukainen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Hannu Hakaniemi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Teijo Niinimaa hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. Eero Lahtinen hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hannes Puikkonen stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in FC Suntti's zone, Reko Hannukainen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hannu Hakaniemi came out of the goal and Reko Hannukainen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 58th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Suntti's goalkeeper Hannu Hakaniemi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Timo Hakanen got free with Tahvo Pikkarainen in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 60th minute, Uuno Harinen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hannu Hakaniemi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reko Hannukainen, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Hannu Hakaniemi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Reko Hannukainen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 73rd minute Reko Hannukainen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hannu Hakaniemi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marko Meltoranta kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. Hannu Hakaniemi didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Hannes Puikkonen went, in the 77th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Reko Hannukainen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Aaro Puhakainen might have been able to make a better finish in the 88th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tahvo Pikkarainen. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Aaro Puhakainen ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Reko Hannukainen in the 90th minute of play forced FC Suntti's goalkeeper Hannu Hakaniemi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. FC Suntti's Hannu Hakaniemi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hannes Puikkonen in the 93rd minute of play. Hannes Puikkonen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
