Taavi Kiviranta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Alpi Pietiläinen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Gunners's Lauri Suominen in the 13th minute got a chance for a shot 13th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Mennää FC's goalie prevented a goal. 15 minutes into the match, Gunners's goal looked a bit too open when Silvo Uusiniemi came free, but Ylermi Väänänen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 18th minute Mika Kiviranta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ylermi Väänänen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tuukka Peltoniemi got a throw-in 24 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Silvo Uusiniemi. Lauri Suominen took the ball and in the 28 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alpi Pietiläinen. Alpi Pietiläinen dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After having played for 32 minutes, Taavi Kiviranta managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gunners's supporters crossed their fingers, but Taavi Kiviranta was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Alpi Pietiläinen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lauri Suominen, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Gunners's Anselmi Kokkonen got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Mennää FC getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Petri Blomberg hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Lauri Suominen's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alpi Pietiläinen was relentless in the 47th minute of the game.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Silvo Uusiniemi to make the kick off. With his leg Alpi Pietiläinen managed to avoid a goal in the 61stth minute, when Gunners's Lauri Suominen fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Lauri Suominen had several of the Mennää FC's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 63 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-3 score and a disappointed Alpi Pietiläinen as he didn't even see the shot coming. If Lauri Suominen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lauri Suominen got in the 73rd a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Alpi Pietiläinen handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. Gunners's Ylermi Väänänen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Silvo Uusiniemi in the 74th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 77 minutes, Lauri Suominen put it in 0-4 from a short distance just to the right of Alpi Pietiläinen. Alpi Pietiläinen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lauri Suominen in the 81st minute of play. When Verneri Kolsi, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 82 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Alpi Pietiläinen was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lauri Suominen in the 87th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alpi Pietiläinen prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Verneri Kolsi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Alpi Pietiläinen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gunners's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
