In the 39thth minute of the game Turo Paatelainen who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Leppada FC's Urpo Vihermäki was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Urpo Vihermäki showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Silvo Uusiniemi, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. 40 minutes into the game, Silvo Uusiniemi cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Urpo Vihermäki was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Silvo Uusiniemi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
