Spectators: 6788 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1788, VIP seats: 0) Trastmossen IFK's Arto Nylund started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Perttu Kivi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aadolf Koskenkorva having to interfere. Minnesota Wild's Maunu Vallin got a good chance for a goal in the 6th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Aadolf Koskenkorva took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Perttu Kivi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 9th minute, Antero Ruohiainen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rainer Vihtilä was out of position in the 14 minute of play, and Heikki Kuuri capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Heikki Kuuri really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Maunu Vallin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Aadolf Koskenkorva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Minnesota Wild's Rainer Vihtilä proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save Minnesota Wild from getting a goal against them. In the 24th minute, Juha-Pekka Karhu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Arto Nylund received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Rainer Vihtilä tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 37thth minute of the game Arto Nylund who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Minnesota Wild's Rainer Vihtilä was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Heikki Kuuri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Perttu Kivi to make the kick off. Heikki Kuuri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Heikki Kuuri recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Aadolf Koskenkorva showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Perttu Kivi in the 66th minute of the match. Jani Teräs's late challenge caught a Trastmossen IFK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jani Teräs helped the player get up and apologised. Jani Teräs hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Rainer Vihtilä showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arto Nylund, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. Antero Ruohiainen hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Trastmossen IFK fans cheered their team off the field, for while Minnesota Wild had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
