A collision led to Palokka FC getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Akseli Lamminen hit a great ball. Atro Laulaja sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 21 minutes, Topias Noronen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ampola IFK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Topias Noronen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Hemmo Hahto scored 1-1 in the 29th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Martti Möksy, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Hemmo Hahto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Orvo Huttunen in the 39th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Martti Möksy saved Palokka FC from getting behind. Hemmo Hahto struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Martti Möksy didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ampola IFK. Orvo Huttunen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Martti Möksy having to interfere. After 47 played minutes Ampola IFK got a freekick which was hit by Jari Suominen. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

If Eero Hiedanpää had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Ampola IFK booed when Palokka FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Konsta Holmström didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 62 minutes of play, Ampola IFK's Orvo Huttunen made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Martti Möksy was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 68 played minutes Palokka FC got a freekick which was hit by Uoti Eskola. In the 71st minute, Hemmo Hahto reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Martti Möksy. The goal made the score 1-3. Orvo Huttunen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. During the 75th minute of the match Uoti Eskola completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Uoti Eskola a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After a rather tough play, Palokka FC's Uoti Eskola got a free kick in the 76th minute. When Atro Laulaja fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ampola IFK's protests and gave Atro Laulaja a yellow card for diving instead. Atro Laulaja hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. When Ampola IFK's Orvo Huttunen in the 82nd minute got a chance for a shot 82nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Palokka FC's goalie prevented a goal. Hemmo Hahto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Orvo Huttunen did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-5 to the left of a surprised Martti Möksy 89 minutes into the match. Martti Möksy showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Orvo Huttunen, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. After having played for 95 minutes, Eero Hiedanpää managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ampola IFK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eero Hiedanpää was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
