Alvi Niskala who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 22ndth minute tested the skills of Reima Kokkila when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The audience was convinced that Jukka-Pekka Kangasalusta's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Viljo Vihtilä was relentless in the 28th minute of the game. Taati FC's Reima Kokkila played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anttoni Parkkali in the 32nd minute of play. In the 35th minute the ball was on its way in behind Lapinjärvi's goalkeeper Viljo Vihtilä, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Anttoni Parkkali blasted a shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Reima Kokkila having to make a save. In the 43rd play minute Alvi Niskala came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Reima Kokkila. 1-0. Viljo Vihtilä made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jukka-Pekka Kangasalusta in the 46th minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jukka-Pekka Kangasalusta to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Taati FC's goal looked a bit too open when Anttoni Parkkali came free, but Reima Kokkila reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Reima Kokkila didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Anttoni Parkkali went, in the 55th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Alvi Niskala managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lapinjärvi's supporters rose to their feet, but Alvi Niskala was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Reima Kokkila breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 60th minute Alvi Niskala shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reima Kokkila saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 74th minute, Anttoni Parkkali left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Lapinjärvi fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. Alvi Niskala sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 79th minute, Anttoni Parkkali left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Lapinjärvi fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. After having played for 82 minutes, Miska Mansikkamäki managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Taati FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Miska Mansikkamäki was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Anttoni Parkkali in the 84th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Reima Kokkila saved Taati FC from getting behind. The supporters of Taati FC booed when Lapinjärvi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ossi Reimari didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 90th minute of the match Taati FC got a corner. Lapinjärvi's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Paavo Harikkala ran over to the corner to take the kick. Lapinjärvi were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Taati FC for a fine match.
