The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Veli Helin helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to EBK getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Veli Helin hit a great ball. After recieving a nice pass, IF Kronan's Mika Kujanpää tried to score from far away in the 18th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in EBK's zone, Aimo Ruutu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Esa Alin came out of the goal and Aimo Ruutu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Reino Nevanlinna managed to get in a good position for a shot. IF Kronan's supporters rose to their feet, but Reino Nevanlinna was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Esa Alin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Aimo Ruutu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Esa Alin made a huge save. With a little luck, EBK's Esa Alin got control of the ball when Aimo Ruutu tried to sneak it across the goal line. EBK's Esa Alin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to save EBK from getting a goal against them. 32 minutes into the match, EBK's goal looked a bit too open when Reino Nevanlinna came free, but Esa Alin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Reino Nevanlinna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Reino Nevanlinna struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Esa Alin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for IF Kronan. In the 43rd minute, Aimo Ruutu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in EBK's zone, Reino Nevanlinna stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Esa Alin came out of the goal and Reino Nevanlinna tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Reino Nevanlinna stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Reino Nevanlinna in the 51st minute of play forced EBK's goalkeeper Esa Alin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. EBK's Esa Alin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aimo Ruutu in the 55th minute of play. Esa Alin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Reino Nevanlinna in the 56th minute of the match. Aimo Ruutu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Esa Alin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Esa Alin didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Reino Nevanlinna went, in the 62nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. 66 minutes into the match, Reino Nevanlinna notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of EBK's Esa Alin. Esa Alin was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 70th minute Reino Nevanlinna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Esa Alin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aimo Ruutu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Esa Alin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When IF Kronan's Reino Nevanlinna in the 82nd minute got a chance for a shot 82nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye EBK's goalie prevented a goal. If Reino Nevanlinna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Reino Nevanlinna took the ball and in the 91 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Esa Alin. Esa Alin dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. When Reino Nevanlinna came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the IF Kronan fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Reino Nevanlinna couldn't finish the play. Reino Nevanlinna recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
