Jaakko Nyman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 11 minutes into the game, Uolevi Kultanen was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Vetokannaksen Veli-Kullat's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ziiga the free kick. Uolevi Kultanen hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Jaakko Nyman came out of the goal in the 12th minute to try and stop a shot by Ziiga's Päiviö Pirjetä. But to his dismay, Päiviö Pirjetä quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After 15 played minutes, Ziiga's Johannes Hernesniemi shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Jaakko Nyman came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ziiga reached it. Uolevi Kultanen got his second yellow card in the match during the 16th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After a rather tough play, Vetokannaksen Veli-Kullat's Uolevi Kultanen got a free kick in the 16th minute. 19 minutes into the game, Ziiga's Päiviö Pirjetä nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jaakko Nyman made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. When Tauno Kotilahti came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Vetokannaksen Veli-Kullat fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tauno Kotilahti couldn't finish the play. Tauno Kotilahti succeeded in the game's 24th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-2. If Päiviö Pirjetä had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After having played for 28 minutes, Tauno Kotilahti managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vetokannaksen Veli-Kullat's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tauno Kotilahti was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A hard shot 30 in the game by Tauno Kotilahti from a close distance when the talented Eerikki Nevanlinna managed to make a qualified save. Ziiga's players were relieved. Tauno Kotilahti who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 32ndth minute tested the skills of Eerikki Nevanlinna when he managed to save the team from getting behind. When Päiviö Pirjetä came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Ziiga fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Päiviö Pirjetä couldn't finish the play. Tauno Kotilahti fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eerikki Nevanlinna having to interfere. Jukka Hedberg's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eerikki Nevanlinna read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. In the 46th minute, Päiviö Pirjetä got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After the first half Ziiga were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 54th minute, Anselmi Kangaskorpi left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Vetokannaksen Veli-Kullat fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. 56 minutes into the match, Ziiga's goal looked a bit too open when Tauno Kotilahti came free, but Eerikki Nevanlinna reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anselmi Kangaskorpi in the 58th minute of play forced Ziiga's goalkeeper Eerikki Nevanlinna to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Juhapekka Jokilahti could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 60th minute of the match, but Jaakko Nyman made a huge save. Jukka Hedberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 70th minute Tauno Kotilahti shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eerikki Nevanlinna saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Tauno Kotilahti had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Tauno Kotilahti scored 4-2 in the 74th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Eerikki Nevanlinna, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 77 minutes, Anselmi Kangaskorpi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vetokannaksen Veli-Kullat and the Ziiga players grew even worse after the yellow card. Tauno Kotilahti sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 89th minute, Tauno Kotilahti got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Vetokannaksen Veli-Kullat booed when Ziiga was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Teemu Petriläinen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vetokannaksen Veli-Kullat's Sampsa Viitanen was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Eerikki Nevanlinna in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 95th minute Tauno Kotilahti shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eerikki Nevanlinna saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. For all the effort they put into the match, the Ziiga players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Vetokannaksen Veli-Kullat.
