Terho Kuparinen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Atte Vihtilä in the 4th minute of play. Thanks to some nice moves Kustaa Airisto could shoot a difficult shot in the 18th minute, which Antti Kärkkäinen however easily saved by the left post. 19 minutes into the game, Arvo Selänne was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Kulbacka FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Siuruanmaa IFK the free kick. After 19 played minutes Kulbacka FC got a freekick which was hit by Arvo Selänne. Daniel Piispa came free with the goalkeeper in the 20th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Antti Kärkkäinen could save by the left post. Kalevi Väänänen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Antti Kärkkäinen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Kulbacka FC's Arvo Selänne got a free kick in the 22nd minute. Atte Vihtilä sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Taavi Kiprusoff during the 33rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 33rd match minute, Siuruanmaa IFK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Taavi Kiprusoff to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Kulbacka FC's Antti Kärkkäinen got control of the ball when Daniel Piispa tried to sneak it across the goal line. Daniel Piispa struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Antti Kärkkäinen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Siuruanmaa IFK. Armas Rauvola might have been able to make a better finish in the 42nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Terho Kuparinen. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Armas Rauvola ran back to his position shaking his head. Terho Kuparinen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Armas Rauvola in the 46th minute of the match. Daniel Piispa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 49th minute. Antti Kärkkäinen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Kalevi Väänänen to strike the kick off in the second half. After 54 played minutes Siuruanmaa IFK got a freekick which was hit by Kustaa Airisto. Kulbacka FC were awarded a corner in the 57th minute after Siuruanmaa IFK's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Auno Vaakanainen took the corner. After taking down the ball on Kulbacka FC's corner Tenho Kukkonen fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Terho Kuparinen quite easily take care of the ball. After a rather tough play, Siuruanmaa IFK's Kustaa Airisto got a free kick in the 62nd minute. 64 minutes into the match, Kulbacka FC's Armas Rauvola sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Terho Kuparinen narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Atte Vihtilä got free with Terho Kuparinen in the 68th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 69 played minutes Siuruanmaa IFK got a freekick which was hit by Iiro Raukko. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Arvo Selänne managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kulbacka FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Arvo Selänne was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Terho Kuparinen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Siuruanmaa IFK getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Iiro Raukko hit a great ball. Atte Vihtilä recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Daniel Piispa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Armas Rauvola managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kulbacka FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Armas Rauvola was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
