With his leg Ilmari Virta managed to avoid a goal in the 7thth minute, when Mylly's Sulo Valkealahti fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Samuli Puhakainen in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ilmari Virta prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Atro Eklund in the 35thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Ilmari Virta, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Miko Takala showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kari Kurttila, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. If Atro Eklund had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Samuli Puhakainen to make the kick off. Atro Eklund blasted a shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ilmari Virta having to make a save. Mylly's Samuli Puhakainen got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Leo Lindfors fell near the penalty area in the 56th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mylly's protests and gave Leo Lindfors a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Mylly getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Sulo Valkealahti hit a great ball. Miko Takala showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valdemar Mustonen, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. 64 minutes into the match, Kainuunmäki IFK's goal looked a bit too open when Atro Eklund came free, but Ilmari Virta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Mylly's zone, Kari Kurttila stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Miko Takala came out of the goal and Kari Kurttila tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Atro Eklund sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mylly's Miko Takala played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Saku Pihlanen in the 81st minute of play. Valdemar Mustonen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Miko Takala having to interfere. Ilmari Virta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Samuli Puhakainen in the 91st minute of play. Mylly's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
