Aleksis Andersson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Nilosvaara. If Seppo Hagelberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Ari Eloranta managed to get in a good position for a shot. Nilosvaara's supporters rose to their feet, but Ari Eloranta was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aleksis Andersson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 15 minutes, Ari Eloranta managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Nilosvaara's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ari Eloranta was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lauri Peuhkuri kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Seppo Hagelberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Aleksis Andersson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nilosvaara's Seppo Hagelberg got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Panu Rajamäki recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Petri Rantala fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Amöba's protests and gave Petri Rantala a yellow card for diving instead. Petri Rantala hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. When Ari Eloranta came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Nilosvaara fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ari Eloranta couldn't finish the play. Seppo Hagelberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Aleksis Andersson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jyrki Lahti's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jalmari Grahn read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Seppo Hagelberg made the kick off in the second half. In the 55thth minute of the game Seppo Hagelberg who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Amöba's Aleksis Andersson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 58th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Amöba's goalkeeper Aleksis Andersson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Ari Eloranta's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Aleksis Andersson was relentless in the 60th minute of the game. Jalmari Grahn was a little too slow when Panu Rajamäki got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 68th minute. The score was now 0-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jyrki Lahti got free with Jalmari Grahn in the 73rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jalmari Grahn made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Jyrki Lahti sent off a good shot on target. Aleksis Andersson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ari Eloranta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 85th minute Panu Rajamäki shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jalmari Grahn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jyrki Lahti recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Panu Rajamäki sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The FC Amöba supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing FC Amöba would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
