Through an outstanding action, after 18 minutes, Markku Hilden successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After 23 minutes, Keimo Kaukonen made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Palosaaren Uimarit's Kari Hakanpää tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Keimo Kaukonen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 36th match minute, Palosaaren Uimarit was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alvi Peuhkuri to maneuver through the defense. After 37 played minutes, Yppäri FC's Eeli Heliskoski shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Kari Hakanpää came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Yppäri FC reached it. After 39 played minutes Palosaaren Uimarit got a freekick which was hit by Alvi Peuhkuri. Kari Hakanpää took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Atso Pettinen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Yppäri FC's zone, Miro Karhunen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Markku Hilden came out of the goal and Miro Karhunen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

If Risto Kankaanpää had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Markku Hilden showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Miro Karhunen in the 61st minute of the match. Miro Karhunen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Markku Hilden tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Markku Hilden showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Risto Kankaanpää, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Tommi Tähtinen charged in rather forcefully in the 72nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tommi Tähtinen the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Tommi Tähtinen kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. Ilkka Saastamoinen kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. Risto Kankaanpää fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Markku Hilden having to interfere. 91 minutes into the match, Miro Karhunen had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Markku Hilden. Yppäri FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Miro Karhunen was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. The Palosaaren Uimarit supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Yppäri FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Yppäri FC.
