FC Rantapallot's Aaro Uitto got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 11 minutes into the match, Äetsä FC's Henrik Kaarniemi sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Maunu Palenius narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Esa Kuuttinen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Äetsä FC's Esa Kuuttinen got a free kick in the 15th minute. Salomo Markkula could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Risto Tuominen made a huge save. In the 23rd match minute, Äetsä FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juhani Palolahti to maneuver through the defense. 25 minutes into the match, Äetsä FC's goal looked a bit too open when Aaro Uitto came free, but Risto Tuominen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Salomo Markkula received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Risto Tuominen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aaro Uitto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Maunu Palenius showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Esa Kuuttinen, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. 38 minutes into the match, Salomo Markkula had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Risto Tuominen. Äetsä FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Salomo Markkula was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Petteri Ollonen didn't quite understand what happened when in the 44 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. Risto Tuominen made an important save on a dangerous shot by Salomo Markkula in the 48th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Aaro Uitto made the kick off in the second half. If Esa Kuuttinen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Henrik Kaarniemi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maunu Palenius having to interfere. Esa Kuuttinen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Äetsä FC booed when FC Rantapallot was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Atro Puumala didn't get a good kick on the ball. After taking down the ball on Äetsä FC's corner Rikhard Wallden fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Maunu Palenius quite easily take care of the ball. Niilo Sihvonen hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. In the 71st minute the ball was on its way in behind Äetsä FC's goalkeeper Risto Tuominen, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Petteri Ollonen hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Äetsä FC's Esa Kuuttinen in the 81st minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Maunu Palenius was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for FC Rantapallot through an amazing save. After some careless play in the Äetsä FC defense, Salomo Markkula kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Risto Tuominen. The Äetsä FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Risto Tuominen should have stopped the shot. In the 94th minute Aaro Uitto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Risto Tuominen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Äetsä FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
