Veli Kivi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 5th minute of the match, but Tero Lumijärvi made a huge save. The audience was convinced that Janne Jokila's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rainer Palonen was relentless in the 10th minute of the game. Rainer Palonen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Janne Jokila, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 17th minute, Roope Lätti got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rainer Palonen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Salomo Virolainen in the 24th minute of the match. Rainer Palonen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Janne Jokila in the 25th minute of play. A collision led to Westbay FF getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Kalervo Litmanen hit a great ball. If Janne Jokila had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Niko Rimpilä's late challenge caught a Mafors's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Niko Rimpilä helped the player get up and apologised. Aleksanteri Laine took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 40th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Rainer Palonen. Westbay FF's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Rainer Palonen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Janne Jokila, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tero Lumijärvi was a little too slow when Roope Lätti got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 45th minute. The score was now 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Roope Lätti to make the kick off. Veli Kivi struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Tero Lumijärvi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Westbay FF. After 71 played minutes Mafors got a freekick which was hit by Ossian Koski. Ossian Koski hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. Veli Kivi blasted a shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tero Lumijärvi having to make a save. In the 83rd play minute Salomo Virolainen came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Rainer Palonen. 1-2. Westbay FF's Rainer Palonen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Janne Jokila in the 97th minute of play. When the final whistle sounded Mafors left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Westbay FF.
