After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Matias Laitila managed to get in a good position for a shot. Real Kemi's supporters rose to their feet, but Matias Laitila was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Janne Riihijärvi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to FC PiPeCa getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Atro Vihervä hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Matias Laitila's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Janne Riihijärvi was relentless in the 12th minute of the game. Kaapro Mäkinen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Turkka Manninen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ensio Luusua during the 23rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. FC PiPeCa's Paul Lindberg got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 32nd minute, Paul Lindberg got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 34th minute, Paul Lindberg left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC PiPeCa fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Esa Lehtimäki sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 43 minutes, Kaapro Mäkinen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC PiPeCa's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kaapro Mäkinen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Real Kemi's zone, Kaapro Mäkinen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Turkka Manninen came out of the goal and Kaapro Mäkinen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Kaapro Mäkinen made a kick off. Matias Laitila fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Janne Riihijärvi having to interfere. Paul Lindberg took the ball and in the 57 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Turkka Manninen. Turkka Manninen dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. In the 61st minute, Antti Niskala reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Janne Riihijärvi. The goal made the score 2-2. An unexpected shot in the 67th minute by Matias Laitila got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Matias Laitila could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 69th minute of the match, but Janne Riihijärvi made a huge save. 70 minutes into the match, FC PiPeCa's goal looked a bit too open when Esa Lehtimäki came free, but Janne Riihijärvi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 72 played minutes, Real Kemi's Simo Rinne shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Janne Riihijärvi came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Real Kemi reached it. Aimo Marttila charged in rather forcefully in the 74th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Aimo Marttila the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Real Kemi getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Aimo Marttila hit a great ball. Janne Riihijärvi made a fantastic save in the 79th minute, when Matias Laitila sent off a good shot on target. Turkka Manninen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kaapro Mäkinen, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. If Matias Laitila had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. FC PiPeCa's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kaapro Mäkinen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Janne Riihijärvi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Matias Laitila in the 95th minute. Turkka Manninen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paul Lindberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
