In the 3rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Perhon Kiri's goalkeeper Uoti Sauso, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jani Henriksson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Paavo Kaukomaa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Keijo Helenius, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Keijo Helenius had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Keijo Helenius struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Paavo Kaukomaa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Perhon Kiri. If Miska Tallus had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 31 minutes into the match, Perhon Kiri's goal looked a bit too open when Jani Henriksson came free, but Uoti Sauso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Paavo Kaukomaa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Keijo Helenius went, in the 35th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Keijo Helenius to strike the kick off in the second half. Paavo Kaukomaa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Miska Tallus in the 52nd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Keijo Helenius managed to get in a good position for a shot. Perhon Kiri's supporters rose to their feet, but Keijo Helenius was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Paavo Kaukomaa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 71 minutes into the match, Vilppu Ryynänen notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Perhon Kiri's Uoti Sauso. Uoti Sauso was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Perhon Kiri would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
