Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Kari Suoste started the match with the kick off. If Sami Selänne had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aapo Kallioniemi struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Robert Palsola didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Marttiini. After a rather tough play, Marttiini's Oskari Ruhanen got a free kick in the 12th minute. 15 minutes into the match, Kari Suoste dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Tauno Mäkelä, 1-0. Robert Palsola took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aapo Kallioniemi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Marttiini's Janne Sjögren got a free kick in the 23rd minute. After recieving a nice pass, Norwich City's Mika Pirnes tried to score from far away in the 24th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. The supporters of Norwich City booed when Marttiini was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oskari Ruhanen didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 31st minute, Marttiini's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Kari Suoste fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Sami Selänne might have been able to make a better finish in the 31st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tauno Mäkelä. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sami Selänne ran back to his position shaking his head. Kari Suoste sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Tauno Mäkelä didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sami Selänne went, in the 34th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. 40 minutes into the match, Norwich City's goal looked a bit too open when Aapo Kallioniemi came free, but Robert Palsola reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sami Selänne fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tauno Mäkelä having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

With a little luck, Norwich City's Robert Palsola got control of the ball when Aapo Kallioniemi tried to sneak it across the goal line. Robert Palsola didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 62nd minute, which inside left pole to 2-1. Sami Selänne struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Tauno Mäkelä didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Norwich City. Kari Suoste scored 3-2 in the 77th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tauno Mäkelä, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Marttiini's Tauno Mäkelä played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kari Suoste in the 80th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kari Suoste in the 82nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tauno Mäkelä prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Aapo Kallioniemi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Joona Sorsamäki's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Robert Palsola read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 93rd minute of play. A collision led to Marttiini getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Risto Nyrhinen hit a great ball. After 97 minutes Marttiini's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Mika Pirnes who took care of the corner kick. Norwich City's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Mika Pirnes in the 99th minute.
