Spectators: 6774 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1774, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Kari Suoste started the match with the kick off. Sami Selänne sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Kari Suoste sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 9 minutes into the match, Norwich City's Kari Suoste sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Erno Virtala narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Kari Suoste struck a weak shot in the 16th minute. Erno Virtala didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Norwich City. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kari Suoste in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Erno Virtala saved Sonboda FC from getting behind. Aarni Nyyssönen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Robert Palsola having to interfere. In the 24th minute, Taavetti Vapamaa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Sami Selänne came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Norwich City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sami Selänne couldn't finish the play. Erno Virtala made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kari Suoste in the 40th minute of play. When Aarni Nyyssönen came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Sonboda FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aarni Nyyssönen couldn't finish the play. Aarni Nyyssönen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Paavo Rahikainen to make the kick off. Paavo Rahikainen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Robert Palsola having to interfere. Paavo Rahikainen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 60 minutes into the match, Sonboda FC's goal looked a bit too open when Kari Suoste came free, but Erno Virtala reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ilkka Hautamäki hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. In the 63rd minute Kari Suoste shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Erno Virtala saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 67th match minute, Sonboda FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paavo Rahikainen to maneuver through the defense. When Panu Piispa fell near the penalty area in the 74th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sonboda FC's protests and gave Panu Piispa a yellow card for diving instead. Panu Piispa hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kari Suoste in the 77th minute of play forced Sonboda FC's goalkeeper Erno Virtala to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Erno Virtala took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kari Suoste, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kari Suoste sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 93 minutes in the game, Kari Suoste fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Erno Virtala having to interfere. Erno Virtala made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kari Suoste in the 96th minute of play. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
