Seating: 1769, VIP seats: 20) Vilppu Eskelinen started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. 5 minutes into the match, FC Nutmeg's Esa Kiprusoff sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Aarno Leinonen narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Vilppu Eskelinen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When FC Nutmeg's Vilppu Eskelinen, in the 10th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for FC Nutmeg. After 19 minutes of play, FC Nutmeg's Esa Kiprusoff made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Aarno Leinonen was left in no man's land by his defense there! When the match had gone on for 26 minutes, Vilppu Eskelinen took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Aarno Leinonen to make any attempt to save it. 40 minutes into the match, FC Nutmeg's Vilppu Eskelinen sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Aarno Leinonen narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 42nd minute, Esa Kiprusoff left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Nutmeg fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. Vilppu Eskelinen didn't miss a given chance and shot in short distance 5-0 via right post in the game's 45th minute. FC Nutmeg's supporters showed their exhuberating excitement! All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ossi Leppiniemi to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, FC Nutmeg's Rafael Höök got a free kick in the 51st minute. After 52 played minutes FC Barcelona got a freekick which was hit by Pekka Ristilä. FC Barcelona's Aarno Leinonen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vilppu Eskelinen in the 55th minute of play. 55 minutes into the game, Ossi Leppiniemi was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Barcelona's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Nutmeg the free kick. After 56 played minutes FC Barcelona got a freekick which was hit by Ossi Leppiniemi. It was a well-played corner which Jani Järvenperä managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Aarno Leinonen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vilppu Eskelinen, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. After having played for 63 minutes, Esa Kiprusoff managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Nutmeg's supporters crossed their fingers, but Esa Kiprusoff was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some careless play in the FC Barcelona defense, Vilppu Eskelinen kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Aarno Leinonen. The FC Barcelona fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Aarno Leinonen should have stopped the shot. Aarno Leinonen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Esa Kiprusoff in the 68th minute of play. 71 minutes into the match, FC Barcelona's goal looked a bit too open when Vilppu Eskelinen came free, but Aarno Leinonen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Esa Kiprusoff in the 78th minute of play forced FC Barcelona's goalkeeper Aarno Leinonen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aarno Leinonen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vilppu Eskelinen, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. After 84 minutes of play, FC Nutmeg's Esa Kiprusoff made it 7-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Aarno Leinonen was left in no man's land by his defense there! With a couple of smart ball manuevers Esa Kiprusoff in the 89th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Aarno Leinonen saved FC Barcelona from getting behind. When Pekka Ristilä fell near the penalty area in the 94th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Barcelona's protests and gave Pekka Ristilä a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, FC Barcelona's Pekka Ristilä got a free kick in the 94th minute. Aarno Leinonen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vilppu Eskelinen in the 97th minute of the match.
