Klaus Kärnä fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roni Hulkkonen having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Teuvo Kiviranta in the 35th minute of play forced Öjnaa's goalkeeper Ilkka Kuusiniemi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 38 minutes into the game, Teuvo Kiviranta recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Ilkka Kuusiniemi. Teuvo Kiviranta showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. When Herman Kangasniemi fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Öjnaa's protests and gave Herman Kangasniemi a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Öjnaa's Herman Kangasniemi got a free kick in the 41st minute. In the 45th match minute, Öjnaa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rami Häkkinen to maneuver through the defense. After 48 played minutes, Lappohja FCa's Silvo Halminen shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ilkka Kuusiniemi came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Lappohja FCa reached it. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

In the 56th minute of the match, Klaus Kärnä got a very nice opportunity to score, but Roni Hulkkonen was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After 62 minutes, Allan Jokilahti mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Öjnaa and the Lappohja FCa players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Lappohja FCa booed when Öjnaa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Allan Jokilahti didn't get a good kick on the ball. 66 minutes into the game, Panu Palonen was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Öjnaa's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lappohja FCa the free kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alvar Kesä during the 68th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Lappohja FCa getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Alvar Kesä hit a great ball. If Rainer Kärki had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Roni Hulkkonen came out of the goal in the 76th minute to try and stop a shot by Öjnaa's Klaus Kärnä. But to his dismay, Klaus Kärnä quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. 81 minutes into the match, Lappohja FCa's Roni Koivuranta sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ilkka Kuusiniemi narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Alvar Kesä got his second yellow card in the match during the 84th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After 85 played minutes Lappohja FCa got a freekick which was hit by Alvar Kesä. In the 90th minute Teuvo Kiviranta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ilkka Kuusiniemi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
