The audience thought a goal was coming when Reijo Laukkanen got free with Kalervo Häppölä in the 61st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in Lappohja FCa's zone, Iiro Luotonen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Roni Hulkkonen came out of the goal and Iiro Luotonen tried to chip the ball over his head. Lappohja FCa's Roni Hulkkonen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Asmo Siren in the 79th minute of play. 81 minutes into the match, Naarksd's goalkeeper Kalervo Häppölä had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mikko Tuulola. 85 minutes into the match, Naarksd's Keijo Nieminen sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Roni Hulkkonen narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
