Pellervo Leonoff hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. In the 10th minute, Klaus Kärnä left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Öjnaa fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Tahvo Kokko showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Allan Jokilahti in the 14th minute of the match. In the 17th minute, Allan Jokilahti got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Öjnaa's zone, Henrikki Keskinarkaus stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ilkka Kuusiniemi came out of the goal and Henrikki Keskinarkaus tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rami Häkkinen during the 23rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 24th match minute, Öjnaa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rami Häkkinen to maneuver through the defense. 27 minutes into the game, Miro Haapaniemi was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Maunosdf's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Öjnaa the free kick. The supporters of Öjnaa booed when Maunosdf was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Miro Haapaniemi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tahvo Kokko showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rainer Kärki, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Rami Grönvall hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. In a very dangerous position, a player in Öjnaa fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 41st minute. Penalty! Otso Joensuu's late challenge caught a Öjnaa's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Otso Joensuu helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Maunosdf getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Otso Joensuu hit a great ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rami Grönvall was the one to do the kick off. After 54 played minutes Maunosdf got a freekick which was hit by Heino Blomberg. After a defensive mix-up in Maunosdf's zone, Rainer Kärki stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tahvo Kokko came out of the goal and Rainer Kärki tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some careless play in the Maunosdf defense, Klaus Kärnä kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tahvo Kokko. The Maunosdf fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tahvo Kokko should have stopped the shot. 61 minutes into the game, Maunosdf's Kimi Manneroos nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ilkka Kuusiniemi made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. After 64 played minutes Maunosdf got a freekick which was hit by Heino Blomberg. After some careless play in the Maunosdf defense, Allan Jokilahti kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tahvo Kokko. The Maunosdf fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tahvo Kokko should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kimi Manneroos in the 79th minute of play forced Öjnaa's goalkeeper Ilkka Kuusiniemi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 87 minutes of play, Maunosdf's Rami Grönvall made it 2-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ilkka Kuusiniemi was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Kimi Manneroos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Allan Jokilahti could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 94th minute of the match, but Tahvo Kokko made a huge save. The Öjnaa players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
