Ilkka Kuusiniemi acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 6th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Kauno Ruohiainen. 9 minutes into the game, Isokadytö IFK's Kauno Ruohiainen nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ilkka Kuusiniemi made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. When Arsi Kalliokoski came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Isokadytö IFK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arsi Kalliokoski couldn't finish the play. If Albert Jaakola had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a rather tough play, Isokadytö IFK's Albert Jaakola got a free kick in the 18th minute. In the 20th minute Allan Jokilahti shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Otto Miettinen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 26 minutes into the match, Öjnaa's goal looked a bit too open when Kauno Ruohiainen came free, but Ilkka Kuusiniemi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Jarkko Halonen fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Öjnaa's protests and gave Jarkko Halonen a yellow card for diving instead. Jarkko Halonen kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Isokadytö IFK's Petri Viisala got a free kick in the 31st minute. Öjnaa's Rainer Kärki got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Isokadytö IFK's Topias Kokkonen got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Öjnaa's Jarkko Halonen got a free kick in the 40th minute. Kauno Ruohiainen struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Ilkka Kuusiniemi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Isokadytö IFK. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kauno Ruohiainen was the one to do the kick off. In the 55th minute, Öjnaa's Allan Jokilahti dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. After 59 played minutes Isokadytö IFK got a freekick which was hit by Arsi Kalliokoski. Vili Rajamäki fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ilkka Kuusiniemi having to interfere. The supporters of Isokadytö IFK booed when Öjnaa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jarkko Halonen didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 71st minute, Vili Rajamäki got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 74th minute, one of Öjnaa:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Öjnaa. In the 75th minute there was a penalty for Isokadytö IFK. Kauno Ruohiainen stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Ilkka Kuusiniemi. 2-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Panu Palonen got free with Otto Miettinen in the 84th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Vili Rajamäki had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Allan Jokilahti kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Otto Miettinen. That made the score 2-2 in the 90 minute of play. Kauno Ruohiainen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 98th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ilkka Kuusiniemi having to interfere. Öjnaa succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Isokadytö IFK had controlled the match.
