Lauri Markkanen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lasse Salminen in the 23rd minute of play. 25 minutes into the game, Tero Karvonen cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Lauri Markkanen was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The audience was convinced that Tero Karvonen's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lauri Markkanen was relentless in the 30th minute of the game. When Niko Lehto came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Ajax fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Niko Lehto couldn't finish the play. Lauri Markkanen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tero Karvonen, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Ajax's Lauri Markkanen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tero Karvonen in the 40th minute of play. After 54 played minutes Ajax got a freekick which was hit by Olavi Jussila. 56 minutes into the game, Tero Karvonen cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-6. Lauri Markkanen was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 60 minutes into the game, Ville Pietikäinen recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Lauri Markkanen. Ville Pietikäinen showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-7. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tero Karvonen in the 63rd minute of play forced Ajax's goalkeeper Lauri Markkanen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 65 minutes into the match, Ajax's goal looked a bit too open when Ville Pietikäinen came free, but Lauri Markkanen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lauri Markkanen was a little too slow when Tero Karvonen got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 72nd minute. The score was now 0-8. Lauri Markkanen made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sándor Dénes in the 75th minute. If Sulevi Saastamoinen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rami Hati sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 92nd minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Jaguar's goalkeeper Sakari Kaarniemi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Tero Karvonen could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 94th minute of the match, but Lauri Markkanen made a huge save. After 97 played minutes FC Jaguar got a freekick which was hit by Tero Karvonen. FC Jaguar's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
