Spectators: 8442 (Terracing: 6333, Seating: 1941, VIP seats: 168) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Pasi Hentunen made the kick off which started today's match. After some careless play in the Riiteovaara defense, Sampo Holmström kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Vilho Oinas. The Riiteovaara fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Vilho Oinas should have stopped the shot. After 6 played minutes FC Helmeri got a freekick which was hit by Hannu Karjala. Vilho Oinas didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sampo Holmström went, in the 9th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. In the 11th minute Pasi Hentunen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vilho Oinas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Riiteovaara getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Kalervo Helkamo hit a great ball. Pasi Hentunen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vilho Oinas having to interfere. Pasi Hentunen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 26 minutes into the game, FC Helmeri's Sampo Holmström nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Vilho Oinas made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. Vilho Oinas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hannu Karjala, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in FC Helmeri's zone, Kalervo Helkamo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pasi Reinikainen came out of the goal and Kalervo Helkamo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpected shot in the 43rd minute by Pasi Hentunen got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Kalervo Helkamo made a kick off. Sampo Holmström fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vilho Oinas having to interfere. Kalervo Helkamos short, quick shot in the 58thth minute got Pasi Reinikainen to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After having played for 61 minutes, Pasi Hentunen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Helmeri's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pasi Hentunen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 63 played minutes Riiteovaara got a freekick which was hit by Urmas Nikander. 68 minutes into the match, Riiteovaara's goal looked a bit too open when Pasi Hentunen came free, but Vilho Oinas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 70 minutes of play, FC Helmeri's Hannu Karjala made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Vilho Oinas was left in no man's land by his defense there! 76 minutes into the game, Kalervo Helkamo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Riiteovaara's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Helmeri the free kick. In the 77th minute of the match Mauri Tukio shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Vilho Oinas showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Vilho Oinas didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Pasi Hentunen went, in the 81st minute, to the upper right corner, 5-0 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sampo Holmström in the 88th minute of play forced Riiteovaara's goalkeeper Vilho Oinas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kalervo Helkamo hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. Ilmo Alanko fired away a difficult shot at goal in the 90th minute. He almost succeeded, but the ball went over. It was a very nice shot. Pasi Hentunen struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Vilho Oinas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Helmeri. In the 94th match minute, Riiteovaara was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Salomo Vihko to maneuver through the defense. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. FC Helmeri had played much better football throughout.
