The referee ignored Poikmetsä's protests and gave Anton Rahkonen a yellow card for diving instead. After 31 played minutes Puromäki got a freekick which was hit by Esa Tuomisalo. 34 minutes into the game, Aleksi Heinola was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Poikmetsä's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Puromäki the free kick. Gabriel Tähtinen charged in rather forcefully in the 37th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gabriel Tähtinen the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Puromäki's Gabriel Tähtinen got a free kick in the 37th minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Kerkko Kolsi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Jacob Vermeulen scored 0-1 in the 65th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sulho Järvenpää, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Puromäki made a substitution. Urmas Ollikainen replaced Sami Hietaharju. 72 minutes into the match, Esa Tuomisalo notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Poikmetsä's Bart Guy. Bart Guy was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Puromäki's Joni Hagman got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Joni Saarinen could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Sulho Järvenpää made a huge save. 79 minutes into the match, Poikmetsä's goal looked a bit too open when Taavi Vanhatalo came free, but Bart Guy reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sulho Järvenpää took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joni Saarinen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Puromäki's Esa Tuomisalo got his second yellow card of the match in the 85th minute. The referee ordered Esa Tuomisalo off the ground. After 86 played minutes Puromäki got a freekick which was hit by Esa Tuomisalo. Despite being the better team, Poikmetsä failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
