Spectators: 7825 (Terracing: 5950, Seating: 1725, VIP seats: 150) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Kalle Lindström took the kick off in the first half of the match. Eemil Viisala showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kalle Lindström in the 3rd minute of the match. Rainer Peltola took the ball and in the 4 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Eemil Viisala. Eemil Viisala dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Pär Pihlgren made a fantastic save in the 10th minute, when Tero Äijälä sent off a good shot on target. In the 13thth minute of the game Veikko Hautaoja who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ahvenlahti's Pär Pihlgren was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Pär Pihlgren made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tero Äijälä in the 16th minute. Unto Hiltunen lost his temper 19 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 18th minute, one of Ahvenlahti:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Ahvenlahti. In the 21st minute there was a penalty for Härjänvatsa IFK. Antero Nikko stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Pär Pihlgren. 1-1. Eemil Viisala took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rainer Peltola, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pär Pihlgren made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Tero Äijälä sent off a good shot on target. Pyry Hakanpää charged in rather forcefully in the 35th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Pyry Hakanpää the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Härjänvatsa IFK booed when Ahvenlahti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pyry Hakanpää didn't get a good kick on the ball. 36 minutes into the match, Ahvenlahti's goalkeeper Pär Pihlgren had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tero Äijälä. In the 42nd minute Tero Äijälä shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pär Pihlgren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tero Äijälä was the one to do the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Antero Karjalainen in the 53rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Eemil Viisala prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Pär Pihlgren came out of the goal in the 56th minute to try and stop a shot by Härjänvatsa IFK's Tero Äijälä. But to his dismay, Tero Äijälä quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Pär Pihlgren took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kosti Pajula, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Taito Palander recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 70 minutes into the game, Antero Karjalainen was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ahvenlahti's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Härjänvatsa IFK the free kick. A collision led to Ahvenlahti getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Ahvenlahti's Pär Pihlgren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tero Äijälä in the 72nd minute of play. When Mikko Sinkkonen fell near the penalty area in the 86th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ahvenlahti's protests and gave Mikko Sinkkonen a yellow card for diving instead. After 95 minutes, Kari Haanpää mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Härjänvatsa IFK and the Ahvenlahti players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 95 played minutes Härjänvatsa IFK got a freekick which was hit by Kari Haanpää.
