The audience was convinced that Jonni Nylund's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Asmo Okkonen was relentless in the 7th minute of the game. Elmeri Vallin kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. A collision led to Mikkelin Palloilijat getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Aarto Martikainen hit a great ball. After 15 played minutes Villmanstrand got a freekick which was hit by Keimo Heino. Asmo Okkonen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alvar Kiprusoff in the 17th minute of the match. In the 18th minute, Cyrille Hetzel ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Asmo Okkonen was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Iikka Sanevuori got a throw-in 24 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Alvar Kiprusoff. Asmo Okkonen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alvar Kiprusoff, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 26th minute Viljo Ikola shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Atro Kuusela saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 28 minutes into the match, Jonni Nylund notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Mikkelin Palloilijat's Asmo Okkonen. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jonni Nylund in the 39th minute of play forced Mikkelin Palloilijat's goalkeeper Asmo Okkonen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Simon Mosselveld kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. Asmo Okkonen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jonni Nylund in the 45th minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-6 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Paulus Smet to strike the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Alvar Kiprusoff dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Asmo Okkonen, 0-7. Asmo Okkonen came out of the goal in the 56th minute to try and stop a shot by Villmanstrand's Alvar Kiprusoff. But to his dismay, Alvar Kiprusoff quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-8. With a little luck, Mikkelin Palloilijat's Asmo Okkonen got control of the ball when Alvar Kiprusoff tried to sneak it across the goal line. Asmo Okkonen made a fantastic save in the 61st minute, when Alvar Kiprusoff sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, Mikkelin Palloilijat's Elmeri Vallin got a free kick in the 61st minute. Cyrille Hetzel recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 64 minutes, Alvar Kiprusoff made it 0-9 with a short kick to the right side. Mikkelin Palloilijat's Asmo Okkonen tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, Villmanstrand's Kaapro Tarvainen got a free kick in the 67th minute. When Mikkelin Palloilijat's Paulus Smet in the 70th minute got a chance for a shot 70th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie.
