Sol Gardner dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Konstanty Kostrzewa hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. In the 18th match minute, Fc Pehmeät Jänikset was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Konstanty Kostrzewa to maneuver through the defense. Aílton Carvalho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ruskeakoski IFK's Sol Gardner played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aílton Carvalho in the 20th minute of play. Aílton Carvalho took the ball and in the 26 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sol Gardner. Sol Gardner dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Sol Gardner showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aílton Carvalho in the 32nd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roope Nevanlinna in the 33rd minute of play forced Fc Pehmeät Jänikset's goalkeeper Aulis Takala to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aulis Takala was out of position in the 39 minute of play, and Ahto Kiviharju capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Ahto Kiviharju really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. Fc Pehmeät Jänikset's Konstanty Kostrzewa quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Ludomil Chazon, made in the 42nd minute of the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Iikka Elovaara during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Fc Pehmeät Jänikset's Aulis Takala played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Panu Vihko in the 48th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

After 55 minutes of play, Ruskeakoski IFK's Panu Vihko made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Aulis Takala was left in no man's land by his defense there! Fc Pehmeät Jänikset's Aulis Takala played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roope Nevanlinna in the 57th minute of play. Aulis Takala made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manne Kattilakoski in the 59th minute of play. Aílton Carvalho blasted a shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sol Gardner having to make a save. After 66 played minutes Fc Pehmeät Jänikset got a freekick which was hit by Atso Ruohiainen. Ruskeakoski IFK's Samuel Pluta was substituted for Ilari Hentunen. In the 67th match minute, Fc Pehmeät Jänikset was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Atso Ruohiainen to maneuver through the defense. Gilian Aelgoet sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sol Gardner stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Aílton Carvalho's shot from short distance in the 77th minute. 79 minutes into the match, Ruskeakoski IFK's goal looked a bit too open when Aílton Carvalho came free, but Sol Gardner reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 86th minute the ball was on its way in behind Fc Pehmeät Jänikset's goalkeeper Aulis Takala, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Aílton Carvalho came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Fc Pehmeät Jänikset fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aílton Carvalho couldn't finish the play. In the 96th minute of the match Fc Pehmeät Jänikset got a corner. Ruskeakoski IFK's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Gonzalo Bergessio ran over to the corner to take the kick.
