After 17 minutes, Refaat Abdou mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Engineering SC and the Grim Reaper Sporting players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Engineering SC getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Refaat Abdou hit a great ball. Nizar Mubarak showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Barakat Yehia in the 20th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Refaat Abdou in the 22nd minute of play forced Grim Reaper Sporting's goalkeeper Nizar Mubarak to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Engineering SC booed when Grim Reaper Sporting was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Burhan Abu Bakr didn't get a good kick on the ball. 33 minutes into the game, Mahmoud Fouad cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Nizar Mubarak was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Mahgoub Kamal hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mahmoud Fouad was the one to do the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Mahmoud Fouad managed to get in a good position for a shot. Engineering SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Mahmoud Fouad was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nizar Mubarak breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ramadan Mowafak hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Essam Talaat showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Yehia Ali, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. With a little luck, Grim Reaper Sporting's Nizar Mubarak got control of the ball when Barakat Yehia tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Engineering SC's zone, Ali Yousif stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Essam Talaat came out of the goal and Ali Yousif tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 72nd match minute, Engineering SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Refaat Abdou to maneuver through the defense. Ramadan Mowafak hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. Essam Talaat took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Othman Hany, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 78 minutes into the match, Engineering SC's goal looked a bit too open when Hany Tamer came free, but Essam Talaat reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 82nd minute, Mahmoud Fouad left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Engineering SC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. In the 88th minute, Ali Yousif ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Essam Talaat was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Mahmoud Fouads short, quick shot in the 92ndth minute got Nizar Mubarak to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 96th minute Ali Yousif shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Essam Talaat saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Engineering SC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
