The Ropka Staarid fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Vambola Lillepuu should have stopped the shot. Saul Cordario came out of the goal in the 23rd minute to try and stop a shot by Ropka Staarid's Jarmo Rist. But to his dismay, Jarmo Rist quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. If Jarmo Rist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The audience was convinced that Stefan Fetor's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vambola Lillepuu was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. Kazekyula's Saul Cordario played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Endel Lipping in the 33rd minute of play. In the 35th minute Rait Taaler shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Saul Cordario saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Stefan Fetor managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kazekyula's supporters rose to their feet, but Stefan Fetor was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vambola Lillepuu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 41 played minutes Ropka Staarid got a freekick which was hit by Kasimir Lehtmets. After 47 minutes, Artur Vooglaid mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Kazekyula and the Ropka Staarid players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Kazekyula getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Artur Vooglaid hit a great ball. A hard shot 49 in the game by Jarmo Rist from a close distance when the talented Saul Cordario managed to make a qualified save. Kazekyula's players were relieved. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The referee ignored Ropka Staarid's protests and gave Jarmo Rist a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Kazekyula booed when Ropka Staarid was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jarmo Rist didn't get a good kick on the ball. Priit Vips was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 61 minutes into the match. Priit Vips hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. Erik Vest fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vambola Lillepuu having to interfere. 73 minutes into the match, Kazekyula's Stefan Fetor sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Vambola Lillepuu narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
