Rene Nõgel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Reino Liib, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Reino Liib's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rene Nõgel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 6th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Reino Liib in the 9th minute of play forced FC SpartakEst's goalkeeper Rene Nõgel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rene Nõgel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elmar Ansip in the 11th minute of the match. In the 12th minute Reino Liib shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rene Nõgel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 15th minute, Myannikuste FS's Reino Liib ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Rene Nõgel. Rene Nõgel yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Reino Liib fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rene Nõgel having to interfere. Tarmo Männik recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ivari Naba's late challenge caught a FC SpartakEst's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ivari Naba helped the player get up and apologised. In the 30th minute of the match Marek Tälli sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Üllar Kasemaa skillfully saved the ball. Üllar Kasemaa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ago Nugis in the 32nd minute of the match. Üllar Kasemaa came out of the goal in the 33rd minute to try and stop a shot by FC SpartakEst's Aron Ahnus. But to his dismay, Aron Ahnus quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. After having played for 39 minutes, Reino Liib managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Myannikuste FS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Reino Liib was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Aron Ahnus received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Üllar Kasemaa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ago Nugis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Üllar Kasemaa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 44th minute of play. If Aron Ahnus had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Ivari Naba hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. 55 minutes into the match, Tarmo Männik had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rene Nõgel. FC SpartakEst's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tarmo Männik was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Ago Nugis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of FC SpartakEst booed when Myannikuste FS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ivari Naba didn't get a good kick on the ball. Elmar Ansip's late challenge caught a FC SpartakEst's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. FC SpartakEst's Rene Nõgel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Reino Liib in the 84th minute of play. Tarmo Männik fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rene Nõgel having to interfere. Rene Nõgel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reino Liib, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. Madis Annama kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. If Tarmo Männik had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
