Spectators: 7133 (Terracing: 5250, Seating: 1733, VIP seats: 150) Teet Vahher started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. In the 5th minute Teet Vahher shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Raimo Lehis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Merja FC booed when Cockburn Raiders was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Uudo Murumaa didn't get a good kick on the ball. 11 minutes into the match, Merja FC's Meelis Laaneoks broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. A hard shot 21 in the game by Benno Veiderma from a close distance when the talented Raimo Lehis managed to make a qualified save. Merja FC's players were relieved. Mats Granqvist showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valdur Pärnaku in the 26th minute of the match. In the 29th match minute, Cockburn Raiders was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ülo Edesi to maneuver through the defense. In the 31st minute Valdur Pärnaku shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mats Granqvist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Teet Vahher received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Raimo Lehis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpected shot in the 35th minute by Benno Veiderma got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 36th minute, Lembit Raja hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Teet Vahher had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rain Kirst during the 38th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 39th match minute, Cockburn Raiders was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rain Kirst to maneuver through the defense. Raimo Lehis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Teet Vahher in the 44th minute of the match. During the 46th minute of the match Rain Kirst completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Rain Kirst a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 47 played minutes Cockburn Raiders got a freekick which was hit by Rain Kirst. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Valdur Pärnaku was the one to do the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Benno Veiderma managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cockburn Raiders's supporters rose to their feet, but Benno Veiderma was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Raimo Lehis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Merja FC's Raimo Lehis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benno Veiderma in the 61st minute of play. Raimo Lehis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benno Veiderma, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 66th minute, Benno Veiderma left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cockburn Raiders fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Benno Veiderma struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Raimo Lehis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cockburn Raiders. After 71 played minutes Merja FC got a freekick which was hit by Meelis Laaneoks. In the 75th minute, Benno Veiderma got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Endel Naaskel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Raimo Lehis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Benno Veiderma sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Raimo Lehis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Endel Naaskel, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. In the 81st minute, Benno Veiderma ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Raimo Lehis was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. If Benno Veiderma had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Mats Granqvist came out of the goal in the 92nd minute to try and stop a shot by Merja FC's Lennart Teras. But to his dismay, Lennart Teras quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. In the 96th minute Benno Veiderma shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Raimo Lehis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. There was no doubt that Cockburn Raiders were the better team. Cockburn Raiders's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
