Spectators: 7464 (Terracing: 5599, Seating: 1716, VIP seats: 149) FC Lehtse's Fred Saareoja started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th minute of the match Tiit Arus sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Egon Kuuskmäe skillfully saved the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valdur Pärnaku in the 5th minute of play forced FC Lehtse's goalkeeper Egon Kuuskmäe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 6th minute Valdur Pärnaku shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Egon Kuuskmäe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 7th match minute, FC Lehtse was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hannes Ridal to maneuver through the defense. Egon Kuuskmäe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valdur Pärnaku in the 10th minute of play. Egon Kuuskmäe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lennart Teras, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Valdur Pärnaku in the 16th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Egon Kuuskmäe prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Lennart Teras fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Egon Kuuskmäe having to interfere. Hannes Ridal kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Valdur Pärnaku in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Egon Kuuskmäe saved FC Lehtse from getting behind. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fred Saareoja in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Raimo Lehis saved Merja FC from getting behind. Tarmo Härg kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. If Fred Saareoja had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 40 minutes into the game, Fred Saareoja recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Raimo Lehis. Fred Saareoja showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Egon Kuuskmäe didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 53rd minute, which inside left pole to 1-1. Valdur Pärnaku fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Egon Kuuskmäe having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fred Saareoja in the 77th minute of play forced Merja FC's goalkeeper Raimo Lehis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fred Saareoja fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raimo Lehis having to interfere. FC Lehtse's Egon Kuuskmäe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valdur Pärnaku in the 80th minute of play. 97 minutes into the game, Hannes Ridal was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Lehtse's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Merja FC the free kick. After 97 played minutes FC Lehtse got a freekick which was hit by Hannes Ridal. Merja FC's Meelis Laaneoks couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 98th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for FC Lehtse. The Merja FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Merja FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
