After a rather tough play, Merja FC's Lembit Raja got a free kick in the 2nd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Valdur Pärnaku in the 5th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Georg Kadarpik prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 8 minutes, Valdur Pärnaku managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Merja FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Valdur Pärnaku was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Bert Vaabel managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kuresaare FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Bert Vaabel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Raimo Lehis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 11 minutes into the match, Kuresaare FC's Bert Vaabel sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Raimo Lehis narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Kuresaare FC's Ago Hiiob in the 15th minute got a chance for a shot 15th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The Merja FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. A collision led to Merja FC getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Tiit Arus hit a great ball. Bert Vaabel struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Raimo Lehis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kuresaare FC. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ago Hiiob in the 47th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Raimo Lehis prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ago Hiiob to make the kick off. Georg Kadarpik stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lennart Teras's shot from short distance in the 53rd minute. Raimo Lehis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ago Hiiob, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. In the 67th minute, Kuresaare FC's Ago Hiiob dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. 75 minutes into the match, Kuresaare FC's goal looked a bit too open when Lennart Teras came free, but Georg Kadarpik reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 84 minutes into the match, Lennart Teras had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Georg Kadarpik. Kuresaare FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lennart Teras was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. After 92 minutes, Uuno Laisk mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Kuresaare FC and the Merja FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Valdur Pärnaku sent away a hard shot on goal in the 99th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Merja FC had won after a very even match.
