After having played for 3 minutes, Robi Leo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pärnu Linnameeskond's supporters crossed their fingers, but Robi Leo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 5 minutes into the match, Pärnu Linnameeskond's goalkeeper Rando Tara had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Raivo Nöps. Rando Tara made a fantastic save in the 9th minute, when Bert Olumets sent off a good shot on target. 15 minutes into the match, Pärnu Linnameeskond's Robi Leo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Valdo Virmaline narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Anton Ansip managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pärnu Linnameeskond's supporters rose to their feet, but Anton Ansip was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Valdo Virmaline breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anton Ansip in the 21st minute of play forced Punikvere's goalkeeper Valdo Virmaline to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rando Tara made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bert Olumets in the 25th minute. Anton Ansip received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Valdo Virmaline tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Jaanus Lume fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Punikvere's protests and gave Jaanus Lume a yellow card for diving instead. In the 27th minute, Jaanus Lume hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Robi Leo in the 32nd minute of play forced Punikvere's goalkeeper Valdo Virmaline to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Raivo Nöps recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Bert Olumets had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Raivo Nöps received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Rando Tara tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Pärnu Linnameeskond booed when Punikvere was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bert Olumets didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Pärnu Linnameeskond defense, Bert Olumets kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rando Tara. The Pärnu Linnameeskond fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rando Tara should have stopped the shot. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

In the 55th minute, Raivo Nöps made a precise shot to the right of Rando Tara. Pärnu Linnameeskond's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. The audience was convinced that Raivo Nöps's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rando Tara was relentless in the 59th minute of the game. Punikvere's defense didn't have a chance, in the 62nd minute, when Robi Leo scored to the left of an out of position Valdo Virmaline, making the score, 2-1. After having played for 68 minutes, Anton Ansip managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pärnu Linnameeskond's supporters crossed their fingers, but Anton Ansip was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Laur Kirst hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. In the 71st minute, Robi Leo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Pärnu Linnameeskond fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. Anton Ansip received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Valdo Virmaline came out and tried to block the shot, but Anton Ansip slotted it home off the left post making it 2-3 in the 83rd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Robi Leo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pärnu Linnameeskond's supporters rose to their feet, but Robi Leo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Valdo Virmaline breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Valdo Virmaline took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anton Ansip, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 98th minute Bert Olumets shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rando Tara saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pärnu Linnameeskond's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
