In the 5th minute, Keijo Leppik got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Agur Heiberg's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ardo Kannisto read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 9th minute of play. In the 10th minute Kajar Halliste shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ardo Kannisto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 13 minutes, Arvo Raun mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Haili and the JK VÕRU players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 15th minute there was a penalty for JK VÕRU. Ilmar Alamaa stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Ardo Kannisto. 0-1. Kajar Halliste received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Ardo Kannisto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Haili's Ardo Kannisto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kajar Halliste in the 27th minute of play. After 31 played minutes Haili got a freekick which was hit by Kalle Koba. Ardo Kannisto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Agur Heiberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 35 minutes into the match, JK VÕRU's goal looked a bit too open when Keijo Leppik came free, but Bruno Veski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Haili's zone, Agur Heiberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ardo Kannisto came out of the goal and Agur Heiberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 40 played minutes, JK VÕRU's Kaur Luuse shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ardo Kannisto came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in JK VÕRU reached it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kajar Halliste in the 43rd minute of play forced Haili's goalkeeper Ardo Kannisto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Keijo Leppik made a kick off. Kerdo Välk charged in rather forcefully in the 52nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kerdo Välk the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Kerdo Välk kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. A collision led to JK VÕRU getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Alvar Niilo hit a great ball. Kajar Halliste fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ardo Kannisto having to interfere. Mihkel Reitalu hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. Bruno Veski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kerdo Välk in the 70th minute of play. Bruno Veski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Keijo Leppik in the 76th minute of the match. Bruno Veski didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Keijo Leppik went, in the 78th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. The attack was good, but when Kajar Halliste in the 82nd minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Kerdo Välk sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 97th match minute, JK VÕRU was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jörgen Leier to maneuver through the defense. If Kerdo Välk had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 100th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
