Ivari Mahlaoks was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Avo Niilo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 18 minutes into the game, Jaan Onkel cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Edvard Ahnus was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The supporters of Viru Veri booed when Ventiil was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aivo Pilvik didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 28 minutes, Avo Niilo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Viru Veri's supporters crossed their fingers, but Avo Niilo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ragnar Kiik sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jaagup Raudsoo's late challenge caught a Ventiil's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jaagup Raudsoo helped the player get up and apologised. In the 46th minute, Hans Lukk hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ventiil's Edvard Ahnus played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Avo Niilo in the 48th minute of play.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Avo Niilo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Edvard Ahnus took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Avo Niilo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Avo Niilo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Edvard Ahnus tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Roland Raie charged in rather forcefully in the 57th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Roland Raie the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 73 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Viru Veri! When the match had been going on for 74 minutes, Ventiil's Tõnis Nummert got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Ivari Mahlaoks. A collision led to Ventiil getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Raigo Ustav hit a great ball. After 82 minutes of play, Viru Veri's Avo Niilo made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Edvard Ahnus was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ivari Mahlaoks made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ragnar Kiik in the 88th minute of play. Ragnar Kiik received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Ivari Mahlaoks tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ivari Mahlaoks showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ragnar Kiik, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
