The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 6thth minute of the game Aron Asso who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Viru Veri's Ivari Mahlaoks was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some careless play in the Viru Veri defense, Ott Karai kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ivari Mahlaoks. The Viru Veri fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ivari Mahlaoks should have stopped the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Ott Karai managed to get in a good position for a shot. Saala's supporters rose to their feet, but Ott Karai was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ivari Mahlaoks breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ivari Mahlaoks took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aron Asso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Saala booed when Viru Veri was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Harald Kesa didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Taniel Eomäe fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Saala's protests and gave Taniel Eomäe a yellow card for diving instead. Saala's Lembitu Alev played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Avo Niilo in the 30th minute of play. In the 31st minute the ball was on its way in behind Saala's goalkeeper Lembitu Alev, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 31st match minute, Saala was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mario Kuld to maneuver through the defense. After 35 played minutes Saala got a freekick which was hit by Mario Kuld. In the 39th minute, Avo Niilo fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Lembitu Alev, passed just outside the right post. 40 minutes into the match, Saala's goal looked a bit too open when Avo Niilo came free, but Lembitu Alev reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Mario Kuld managed to get in a good position for a shot. Saala's supporters rose to their feet, but Mario Kuld was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ivari Mahlaoks breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Viru Veri players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Saala were winning 0-1.

52 minutes into the match, Viru Veri's goalkeeper Ivari Mahlaoks had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ott Karai. Sulev Idavain kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. A hard shot 62 in the game by Ott Karai from a close distance when the talented Ivari Mahlaoks managed to make a qualified save. Viru Veri's players were relieved. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aron Asso in the 64th minute of play forced Viru Veri's goalkeeper Ivari Mahlaoks to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Harald Kesa hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. If Avo Niilo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 70 minutes into the match, Viru Veri's Avo Niilo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lembitu Alev narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Mario Kuld's late challenge caught a Viru Veri's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mario Kuld helped the player get up and apologised. After 71 played minutes Saala got a freekick which was hit by Mario Kuld. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 76th minute of the game. One of Viru Veri:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Saala:s goal. When the match had been going on for 77 minutes, Saala's Vambola Pervik got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Ivari Mahlaoks. The supporters of Viru Veri booed when Saala was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ott Karai didn't get a good kick on the ball. Avo Niilo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Lembitu Alev tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Saala walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
