Tauno Mäetaguse charged in rather forcefully in the 22nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tauno Mäetaguse the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Sokyula booed when Põhja Tallinn was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tauno Mäetaguse didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sven Lehtmäe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eduard Nõmmsalu in the 27th minute of the match. Kalmer Loik made a fantastic save in the 30th minute, when Tauno Mäetaguse sent off a good shot on target. After 32 played minutes Põhja Tallinn got a freekick which was hit by Marko Vilberg. Tom Kingisepp sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 39th minute of the match Henri Ülem sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sven Lehtmäe skillfully saved the ball. Eduard Nõmmsalu struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Sven Lehtmäe didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sokyula. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Einar Lippus made a kick off. Sven Lehtmäe stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tom Kingisepp's shot from short distance in the 54th minute. In the 57th minute, Sokyula's Tom Kingisepp ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Sven Lehtmäe. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet as Eduard Nõmmsalu kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Sven Lehtmäe. That made the score 1-2 in the 65 minute of play. Einar Lippus sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match had gone on for 72 minutes, Tom Kingisepp took a quick shot and it went in 1-3 without a chance for Sven Lehtmäe to make any attempt to save it. Ahti Liib was shown his second yellow card after 78 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 78th minute, Ahti Liib hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eduard Nõmmsalu was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 80th minute. Sokyula's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance.
