If Alo Teras had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 14 minutes, Alo Teras put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Alan Ladva. Alan Ladva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alo Teras in the 22nd minute of play. Mart Sepp sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 28 played minutes JK Põltsamaa Sport got a freekick which was hit by Jörgen Kuningas. Ermo Neumann was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 29th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 31st minute, JK Põltsamaa Sport's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Mart Sepp fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. When Rasmus Kurg fell near the penalty area in the 35th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vanassaare's protests and gave Rasmus Kurg a yellow card for diving instead. After 35 played minutes Vanassaare got a freekick which was hit by Rasmus Kurg. Mart Sepp received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Egon Veetamm tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half JK Põltsamaa Sport were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alo Teras stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Lauri Algaja fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Egon Veetamm having to interfere. When Mart Sepp, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 56 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Egon Veetamm was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Maido Vahtra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Lauri Algaja had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 70 minutes, Lauri Algaja managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vanassaare's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lauri Algaja was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in JK Põltsamaa Sport's zone, Mart Sepp stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Egon Veetamm came out of the goal and Mart Sepp tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Alo Teras came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the JK Põltsamaa Sport fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alo Teras couldn't finish the play. Egon Veetamm made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lauri Algaja in the 80th minute of play. Vanassaare's Mart Sepp got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mattias Esken during the 87th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 86 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Vanassaare! When the match had been going on for 88 minutes, JK Põltsamaa Sport's Kalju Rehepap got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Alan Ladva. After having played for 92 minutes, Lauri Algaja managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vanassaare's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lauri Algaja was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 94 minutes into the match, Vanassaare's Mart Sepp sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Egon Veetamm narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 98 minutes, Haarald Rõuk mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vanassaare and the JK Põltsamaa Sport players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Vanassaare getting a freekick after 98 minutes play. Haarald Rõuk hit a great ball. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Vanassaare lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
