Rein Krooli recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Miiaste's zone, Juss Joamets stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Valdo Maandi came out of the goal and Juss Joamets tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 18 minutes, Juss Joamets managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Sakala's supporters crossed their fingers, but Juss Joamets was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Juss Joamets fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valdo Maandi having to interfere. Adolf Üits sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ainar Talviste made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valmar Pauk in the 33rd minute of play. FC Sakala's Adolf Üits got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Valdo Maandi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Sakala. FC Sakala were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
