The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In a very dangerous position, a player in FC Avispea fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 6th minute. Penalty! The referee gave SK Sakha a penalty, 8 minutes into the game. After 15 minutes, Väino Randmaa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Avispea and the SK Sakha players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 15 played minutes FC Avispea got a freekick which was hit by Väino Randmaa. After a defensive mix-up in FC Avispea's zone, Oodo Kalm stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Asko Lahe came out of the goal and Oodo Kalm tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ülo Taimre kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. In the 18th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Avispea's goalkeeper Asko Lahe, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Oodo Kalm had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Joonatan Joller fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SK Sakha's protests and gave Joonatan Joller a yellow card for diving instead. After 28 played minutes SK Sakha got a freekick which was hit by Joonatan Joller. The audience thought a goal was coming when Karl Traks got free with Andrus Aasamaa in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Karl Traks's late challenge caught a SK Sakha's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Karl Traks helped the player get up and apologised. Anton Räni fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Asko Lahe having to interfere. Asko Lahe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Oodo Kalm, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 46 minutes, Anton Räni managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SK Sakha's supporters crossed their fingers, but Anton Räni was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Andrus Aasamaa was out of position in the 47 minute of play, and Riivo Savi capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Riivo Savi really showed his touch with that goal: 2-1. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Oodo Kalm to strike the kick off in the second half. Riivo Savi struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Andrus Aasamaa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Avispea. 57 minutes into the match, FC Avispea's Tanel Lehtmäe sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Andrus Aasamaa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 61st minute, Riivo Savi made a precise shot to the right of Andrus Aasamaa. SK Sakha's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Väino Randmaa couldn't finish the play. If Riivo Savi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tanel Lehtmäe in the 88th minute of play forced SK Sakha's goalkeeper Andrus Aasamaa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
