FS Vodava's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jan-Joost Flocquier was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 7th minute, but Ali Mäkitalo got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving FC Tsernobõl hanging dry this time. In the 11th match minute, FC Tsernobõl was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marek Majdoch to maneuver through the defense. Joel Ärsis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jan-Joost Flocquier, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Helger Korm scored 0-2 in the 18th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Joel Ärsis, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ali Mäkitalo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kaijo Rännu, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Through an outstanding action, after 23 minutes, Ali Mäkitalo successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Helger Korm received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Joel Ärsis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. FS Vodava's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Matthias Sammer ran over to the corner to take the kick. Ain Nugin made a great header on FC Tsernobõl's corner, it was just that FS Vodava's Joel Ärsis managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 37th minute, Jan-Joost Flocquier ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Joel Ärsis was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. After the first half FC Tsernobõl were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The corner ended in Matthias Sammer almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but FS Vodava's Joel Ärsis did a great save. FC Tsernobõl's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
